Expressive and lyrical first chair Violin, Viola and Cello with a dark tone. Perfect for slow emotional lines. Inspired by Camille Saint-Saëns Danse Macabre we are proud to present you our first Solo Strings library focusing on expressive performances. Macabre consists of a sampled String Trio Violin, Viola and Cello recorded separately in their first chair positions in the Sofia Session Studio, where artists like Two Steps from Hell recorded their albums. Macabre Solo Strings aren’t the usual sampled Solo Strings. They were crafted with one particular sound in our minds, which they deliver better than any other Solo String library out there. Macabre excels at slow emotional Solo String lines and on top of that you don’t even need tons of programming to get stunning results with them. Just sit down and play. The samples themselves contain a huge amount of natural expressiveness, which makes it easier than ever to write realistic sounding Solo String lines.
The solo viola boasts the same set of fantastic features as its cousins from the LSS Solo Strings bundle, including THREE true legato types, 8RR x 3 Dynamic Layer Staccato playing, TWO true release modes (hard and soft), plus trills, al with four fantastically blendable mic positions, which, between them, can offer a huge variety in sonic pallete. The three legato modes – slurred, bowed and portamento, are easily switchable during use via keyswitches, and one exceptionally useful feature, which we are shocked to say we rarely see in string libraries, is the ability to change bow on the same note. Simply hold the note you want to change bow on, and press the low G keyswitch.
This is the individual solo violin instrument from our “LSS Solo Strings” sample library bundle, which also replaces our previous solo violin, and is not even comparable in quality. We have sampled the instrument in a large beautiful London concert hall, with many microphones, making up four main, mixable mic perspectives, close mono, close pair, mid room and far room. The difference in perspectives is huge, meaning you can create sounds ranging from a very dry and up close sound, to a singing, naturally reverberated distant violin – as well as any degree between the two.
Includes the solo violin, viola, cello and contrabass of the Miroslav Orchestra archives. An incredible range of performance articulations such as legato, staccato, pizzicato, tremolo, sul ponte, spiccato, detache and more make this one of the most beautiful and playable collections of solo strings and small string ensembles around. Includes additional bonus symphonic textures and powerful interactive orchestra combis.
Orchestral Acoustic Bass Expansion Solo Strings Advanced compatible with Kontakt 4 and above.
Dan Dean Solo Strings Advanced is an orchestral sample library featuring chromatically sampled Violin, Viola and Cello in both Solo and Ensemble configurations.Convolution – Timbral and Reverb. This is the first sampling product to employ “Timbral Impulse” technology, developed with Numerical Sound which allows you to match the DDSSA’s sound to a captured snapshot of a different string section or solo instrument. Also by Numerical Sound, a custom created library of Reverb Impulses custom designed for use only with the DDSSA.
The Virtuoso Series Solo String Library is designed to be an extremely flexible multi-sample collection containing over 500 instruments! The focus is on single, multi-sample notes rather than “riffs” or “phrases”, though some popular arpeggios and scales are included in the solo violin. Most of the articulations are 8 velocity layers deep, and sometimes, as many as 32. With this approach, it’s easy to avoid the “machine gun” or “robotic” curse of most sample libraries when trying to play fast repeated notes. In addition, to maximize the realistic sound of this type of music, release triggers are also used extensively to enable you to play all kinds of repeated notes in all kinds of tempos.
The newest and largest of all Kirk Hunter Studios’ solo strings packages gives you 4 new solo sections which include 1st and 2nd chair (excluding solo bass). Coupled with innovative and progressive TVEC 3 programming, you will not find a more flexible and playable solo string library! One very nice feature is the way TVEC 3 handles the slides for Solo Strings 2. When you play a note, followed by another note you want to slide into (up or down), TVEC 3 knows whether to slide a lot or just a nudge. Also, the vibrato of the slide is now variable. With these the new solo strings, you can get all kinds of emotional solo playing styles, such as Country Western, or flat-out classical! Musical expression was key in recording these new sections. You’ll be able to get lush rich vibratos, lighter vibratos (for violins and violas), and austere and “creepy” non-vibratos.
